A Quantitative approach to Kazakh nomadic agriculture
Land use in the Ural, Turgai, Akmola, and Semipalatinsk Regions (1890s-1910s)

This article reconstructs grain harvest volumes among Kazakh nomads across four regions (Uralsk, Turgay, Akmola, and Semipalatinsk) during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, utilizing statistical data from the historical source 'Materials on Kyrgyz (Kazakh) Land Use'. Furthermore, the study converts these agricultural metrics into a standardized livestock (sheep) equivalent per 'conventionally able-bodied' individual.References
